On November 24th 2012, Derek Greif was in a very serious accident. Derek's injuries have been and are extensive, with the amount of injury to his brain he was in ICU for over two weeks, he has now taken positive steps to recovery, which could be many months.
I have been told that the extent of damage to his head / brain, even with all the science and skills that have helped and are helping Derek, that his being here with us today and his chances with recovery goes beyond these sciences and skills and that there is a higher power at work, as some would put in the miracle category. To have this amazing news come on a daily, hourly, moment by moment basis, the Greifs are so appreciative of what has been given so far through all your thoughts and prayers; they are a very humble, gracious and amazing family, and are the type to be the first to give without asking and the last to ask for anything.
As a small gesture, in addition to your thoughts and prayers, I have set this site up to receive your donations to help Derek, Tami, Shane, Hunter, and Rachel through this recovery process. This will go a long way, in so many ways, for helping Derek and them.
Thank you so much, and please continue to put Derek in your thoughts and prayers.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
One last personal note, if you haven't done so already, please give a hug and a "love you" to those closest to you. Life is so precious, and I am very very thankful that Shane and Tami still have Derek, knowing what he means to them and what they mean to him.
