Harsh Words Hurt Kids aims to raise awareness about the baneful reality of verbal, emotional, neglectful, or mental (VENOM) child abuse and prevent and lessen its occurrence.
VENOM child abuse is a widespread serious problem. Telling a child he or she is “bad,” “stupid,” or “worthless,” or neglecting a child's emotional needs distorts self-concept, destroys self-esteem, and ingrains psychological scars.
Most people are unaware of the VENOM child abuse epidemic and its impact on society. Others choose to be blind or don’t know what to do about it.
Harsh Words Hurt Kids will educate people about all passive violence against children, influence agencies to formulate action plans to treat its victims, and inspire everyone to become champions in the fight against this abuse.
We have completed our application for 501(c)3 status and are waiting approval. In the meantime our immediate endeavor is to raise the monies necessary to develop our website: HarshWordsHurtKids.org.
This website will provide information about VENOM child abuse, serve as a resource directory of services, and give organizations who are dedicated to ending all forms of child abuse greater exposure to people in need of their help.
