Little Liam was born on July 19th, 2012 with a serious skin condition. The doctors believe it may be what is known as EB or Epidermolysis Bullosa, a condition where the skin is so fragile, the slightest touch can cause the skin to slough off and blister. Little Liam is at the local children's hospital which is hours away from home in Tennessee. As you can imagine, this is causing terrible hardship for his family.
Liam's mom is part of a special group of friends who have gone through many pregnancies together, and are trying to pull in some donations for their family. We have already come up with enough to get 3 lambskin blankets for his sensitive skin, and others are using their knitting talents to make him some super soft mittens out of bamboo yarn, etc.
We are looking for donations of any kind, including cloth diapers (as disposables are too rough) made of bamboo or other super soft material, blankets, clothing for both Liam and Chloe (Liam's almost 4 year sister) and things to keep Chloe occupied while they are at the hospital. Gift cards for gas (her husband must travel back home to go to work), food, and toiletries are also desperately needed. We are looking for cash donations (which can be done through this site), gift cards, gas cards, grocery cards, and items that can be of use to the family. Please feel free to contact us if you have items to donate, and we will make sure that they are sent directly to the family at the FedEx House where they are currently staying.
Any information on additional resources will also be greatly appreciated!
